Posted 12:11 May 19, 2008Well, this version does not have as much as we would have liked, but it now includes part of the Silver Mines, and also a lot of updates concerning graphics. Parts of the engine has been updated, as well as some minor changes.
The link to the download will be up soon, on the Download page, but until then, go here:

Enjoy,

Posted 06:52 May 8, 2008Well, we pretty much had a break the last two weeks. We worked crazy hard on the game for over a month, and needed time to stop, and think about what to add next.
We have completed the Silver Mines boss, and we just want to add the rest of the rooms and a little extra special place at the end of the demo (V0.2.7).
We are going to start working on the game again this Saturday, and you can expect a release by the end of next week.
Sorry for the delay, but I just wanted to state we are not dead, and plan to continue the game.
Thanks,
Noel.
Posted 02:43 April 26, 2008We have not been able to make much project on the game. I think we are a little lost at what to add.
What we need to do add is the rest of the Silver Mines, but we both feel we should sketch the whole place out on paper, first, before putting it all into the game. The only problem is, we haven't done that yet..
We have updated some stuff though. The intro when you first start the game is much better, Liam also redid the most used tileset (The underground dirt/grass one), and we now have to sorta recreate all the levels, which is taking a lot of time. (but it overall looks much better).
Also, we made a new Enemy, a mini Silver Snake, which acts a little like the Silver Mines boss.
The Silver Mine boss (which I just finished programming) is pretty cool. I wont tell you more, it will be a surprise for what it actually does.
Otherwise, we hope that the next version will have a lot more storyline added, if we are able to add this big cut scene in...
Thats it...

Posted 06:57 April 18, 2008Well, the last post I made was basically just saying I started the website, so I am posting again explaining whats going to be in the next demo of Out of the Past.

Anyways, the next version will have a new weapon, the
Grapple Shot. This weapon will be like the hookshot in Zelda, if you have ever played any of those games.
It does practically no damage to enemies (1), but when it hits a wall, it pulls you towards it. This means if there is somewhere high up that you previously could not reach, you can now get to!

Other than this new weapon, we are going to add more to the village, an interesting and hard 'game' you have to play to get the weapon, and a few more tunnels, which will eventually lead to the Silver Mines.
We will also try to make the story line a little more clear, as currently, if you do not talk to the Chief of the village, you don't really know whats going on. We may add a cut scene or something when you enter the Chiefs house, which is one of the first houses you see in the village.
Other than all that, we have just been updating the engine and sprites, creating a few new enemies, etc.

Now.. All we need is to get a few more people interested in the game...

Out Of The Past Website Launch
Posted 11:18 April 17, 2008Well, me and Liam have decided to create a website for our game, Out of the Past. This website will be used as a blog, and as a place for people to check out the game, comment on it, find the latest versions, etc.
If you haven't played Out of the Past yet, go check it out now!

Hopefully you will enjoy it!

Anyways, thats it for now,
Noel.
